Summer Fun!

Hey everyone,

Sorry that it has been forever since I’ve posted pictures.  We’ve had a busy, but fun summer and now we are full-swing into the school year.  Chris has been back teaching for a couple of weeks now and Shaelyn starts 3K preschool next week, two days a week.  We are all very excited!!! We are also very excited that Chris is in his last year of working on his Doctorate at the University of South Carolina.  We’ve got three years under our belt and are now in the home-stretch.  Woohoo!

The kids are doing great.  Shae will be 4 in November and she is so funny!  She says some of the funniest things and is always making silly faces.  She loves to “read” books and go swimming in our pool.  Keegan is almost 19 months and is large and in charge.   He has such a sweet personality and loves to smile and snuggle.  He is into everything and loves his cars, puzzles and to throw a ball.

We had a wonderful summer filled with lots of working for Chris and I, fun visits with family and a trip out to Alabama and another to Ohio/Chicago.  We’ve got some fun pictures from all of our adventures.  The new album is called “Summer 2010″. Enjoy!

It’s been a while!

Hey everyone,

Sorry that it has been so long since I’ve posted.  We’ve had a lot go on since last time I posted.  At the end of March, Aunt Chelle and Uncle Bruce came down for a wonderful visit.  We had a great time and, like usual, I barely took any photos.  We’ve also had some great time with Pops and G.G. since Pop’s work has brought him down to Greenville on several occasions.  We also had a great Easter.  Shae got to do her first large Easter egg hunt.  It was at a nursing/assisted care facility that our church partners with.  Shae had a great time and Keegan spent his time blowing kisses to all of the old ladies and charming everyone.  It was a lot of fun!

Just last week, Shae had her dance recital and it was pretty funny!  In addition to the ridiculous outfits, the girls were hysterical.  We are glad that we videotaped the dress-rehearsal prior to the recital because Shae pretty much stood there with her fingers in her mouth the entire time.  I think there was even a nose pick at the very end!  She had a great time and we had fun celebrating afterwards with her.

The kids are getting so big.  Keegan is 15 months now and weighs in at 30 lbs.  We lovingly call him our “tub of love”.  He is the sweetest and funniest little boy.  He loves to snuggle and makes the funniest faces, especially while eating.  Shae is 3 1/2 and is active!!  She keeps us going all the time.  She also loves to color and learn how to write her letters.  She is really funny, sometimes intentionally, and other times not.

Chris is done for the summer, aside from teaching an online course and we are looking forward to some fun family time, including a trip to Chicago in July!  Enjoy the new pictures.  They are in the album called “Spring 2010.”

Keegan’s 1 and Other Fun!!

Wow!  It has been ages since I’ve posted last!  So sorry about that.  Anyhow, we’ve had a great couple of months here in the Davis household.  Most notable is that Keegan turned 1 on February 4th!  I can’t believe my baby is getting so old and huge!  Just check out the pictures and you’ll see what I mean.  He is a healthy and very happy little man.  He is walking most of the time and he’s pretty proud of himself.  He babbles constantly and usually has a huge cheesy grin on his face.  Shae is getting so big and just went through a growth spurt.  She is really tall and everyone always thinks she’s a lot older than she is.  She continues to make us laugh with her goofiness and are constantly amazed by the things she says.

This last week was Chris’ spring break and we had a good time!  We got to go to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC for the first time.  We also got to go visit the Davis and Patterson families in Alabama.  We had a great time.  Shae always has so much fun playing with her cousins and Keegan really enjoys all of the action.

We are really looking forward to seeing Aunt Chelle and Uncle Bruce in a couple of weeks and also the possibility of seeing Pops who will be traveling to Greenville for business.  The new album has the same title as this post.  Enjoy the pics!

What a Month!!

Hey everyone,

We have had a whirlwind month with lots of fun and exciting things!  First of all, Shae turned 3 on November 6th.  We had a cupcake decorating party at our house with her little friends.  We had a great time!  I made little aprons for the kids and they had a blast decorating their cupcakes.  We also had great weather for the kids to play outside.  We gave Shae an adorable Dora bicycle and she loves it!  Too bad it’s getting too cold to go outside and ride it.  Grandma and Grandpa Davis were able to be here for her party, so that was a nice treat.  Next, we traveled to Ohio for Chris to go to a convention.  We visited with the Didier-side of the family and had a birthday party for Shae up there.  We had a blast hanging out with everyone and it was so fun to see the kids together, since they are all so close in age.

For Thanksgiving, the Pattersons and Davis’ were so sweet and picked up Keegan and Shae so we could have two kid-free days and so the kids could all hang out together.  It was such a blessing to Chris and I and Shae and Keegan had a great time.  Then, we went and stayed with them as well and had a very nice Thanksgiving all together.

Finally, as we are getting closer to Christmas, I took the kids to watch the Christmas parade downtown so we could see Daddy’s band march.  It was really cold, but the kids did great and we had a lot of fun!  Shae loved seeing all of the dogs in the parade and she still keeps telling me about all of the people dressed like animals dancing.  I think she waved at every single person in the parade!  It was a good time.  Tonight, we decorated our tree, listened to Christmas music and ate a bunch of fun appetizer-y types of food.  We had our own little party.  A few of our friends do this as a tradition each year and it was a lot of fun.

That’s all for now.  There are a lot of pictures.  The album is called “Nov-early Dec 09″.  Enjoy!

It’s Fall Y’all

Hey everyone,

We hope you are all doing well.  We have had a great month and it’s hard to believe that it is November already!  Shae will be turning 3 on Friday!!  Keegan will be 9 months old on Wednesday.  Time flies.  Keegan is crawling very well now and can pull himself up to standing.  He’s not quite sure how to get down, so he gets pretty frustrated.  He still eats like a champ and is quite the busy little boy.  Last time we checked, he was 23 lbs!!

Shae is talking so well and does so at length!! (Just like her Mommy, I know).   She says some of the funniest things and it is really fun to hear her play pretend, especially when her stuffed animals are talking to each other.  They have their own voices she does.   She is very smart and is recognizing her numbers and letters even more.   She is enjoying her dance class each week and has fun in her class at church.  It’s so fun to see her have little friends.  She is so excited about her birthday party on Friday.  Her friends are going to come over and have a cupcake decorating party.  Grandma and Grandpa Davis will also get to be here!  Then, we get to see the Didier family and the Pattersons later in the month.  We have  a lot of fun things coming up.

The kids had a blast with all of the Halloween festivities.  We had our Trunk or Treat at church and we passed out candy in our neighborhood last night.  Chris and I have had a growing heart for those in our neighborhood and really want to start engaging them on a deeper level.  Shae was a great helper passing out the candy!  The new album is called “Halloween 09″.  Enjoy!

Fall is Here!

Hey everyone,

We hope you are enjoying Fall as much as we are here in South Carolina.  We just did our annual trip to Skytop Orchard to pick apples with our Small Group from church today.  We had a great time and are excited about the yummy apples and goodies to come.  Keegan and Shae did great and they got to ride in the new wagon.  It’s not too easy to drag a wagon with 50+lbs. worth of children up and down the hills in the orchard, so we definitely got a workout today.  There are some really fun pictures of our outing.

There are also some pictures of G.G. when she was here visiting.  We had a great time with her and are looking forward to seeing all of the Didier clan in mid November.  In other news, Keegan officially has 1 tooth now and another very close to coming through.  He is ginormous and really funny.  He is crawling (sort of) randomly, but mainly lunging to get where he wants to go.  We better get on the ball with child-proofing again.  Shae is 100% potty trained during the days and has begun to wake us up in the night for her to go potty.  We will hopefully be in panties overnight sometime soon.  We are so proud of her!!  She also had her first experience (actually two) of peeing outside today at the orchard.  Yikes!  She did a great job even though I dragged her off to secluded areas and made her go outside.  When we got home, she said, “I have to go potty outside.”  We quickly corrected her and directed her to the bathroom.  She is a funny girl and we can’t believe that she will be 3 in  just a couple of weeks!!!

That’s all for now.  The pictures are in the album called “October 09.” Enjoy!

They Grow So Fast!

Hey everyone,

I’ve posted a small number of pictures in the album called, “September 09.”  We’ve had some major excitement in the Davis household because Shae is potty trained!!!  She is only in diapers during naps and bedtime.  We are so proud of her and she really feels like a big girl.  We bought her Strawberry Shortcake underwear the other day and it was hysterical how excited she was.  She had to run back to her bedroom and immediately try on all three pairs to show us.  We are so excited, but it was the last thing baby-like that Shae had and now she’s completely a big girl.  Wow, they grow up so fast.   Also with Shae, she just started her dance classes today.  After covering her ears for the first 15 minutes, due to loud music and 13 two and three year olds in tap shoes, she eventually came out of her shell and really enjoyed the ballet portion.  Probably because it was a bit quieter.

Keegan is such a happy boy and is so desperate to crawl.  He has become very intentional with his movements and will twist in different directions to get things.  He can roll toward things and can get up to his hands and knees and rock.  He can sometimes lunge a little bit, but we’re not quite there yet.  It’s got to be pretty hard to move all 21 lbs.!   He loves Shae and watches her intently.  Shae is getting so much better with him.  We were in the car yesterday running errands and Keegan was getting fussy.  Shae kept saying, “Keegan, it’s okay.  I’m sorry, but we can’t get out of our seats right now.”  She makes silly faces for him and he’ll stop crying immediately.  They also “talk” back and forth quite a bit.

It’s mid-September Already?!!

Oh my goodness!  Time is flying by.  I can’t believe that summer is over and it’s already mid-September.  Now that we are back into the swing of the school year, the weeks are going by so quickly.  Chris is crazy busy teaching and going to school.  He is hanging in there and we just have to keep telling ourselves that this is just a season and it will be over soon.  Keegan is 7 months old!!!  He weighs in at a whopping 20lbs. 11oz. and is growing like a weed.  He is starting to eat all sorts of baby food.  He’s quite the eater.  He can also sit up without assistance, for short periods of time and can get up on his hands and knees and rock.  Not quite ready to crawl, but you can tell he really wants to.  Shae is potty training!!!  This is the real deal.  We are so proud of her and she is doing pretty well.  We’re still not 100% accident-free, but we are making great progress.  She is such a big girl.  We have been spending a lot of time outside, especially riding her tricycle.   She loves riding in the driveway and she’s getting faster every day.   Well, that’s about all for now.  Enjoy the pictures.  The new album is called “August-September 09.”

Alas, Our summer is officially over.

Hey everyone,

So, we have had a great summer, but are sad to see it go.  Chris starts Band Camp on Monday and then back into the grind of school.  We have been so spoiled having him home all summer, but at the same time, it will be nice to get back into our routine again.

There aren’t a ton of pictures, but there are some cute ones.  Our garden is still doing well and we have had some great melons and zucchini.  We’ve also had the opportunity to go peach picking twice and are loving all of the yummy peach goodies that come with that.  Shae is doing great and is almost finished with gymnastics.  She has had a great time, but she’s pretty pumped about starting dance in the fall.  Keegan is 6 months old already!!!  He’s eating cereal along with his bottles and will be starting baby food really soon.  His well-visit is next week and I can’t wait to see how much he weighs.  He is a beautiful chunker.

That’s all for now, but enjoy the photos.  The album is called, “–>July 09″.

Summer Break is Almost Over!

Hey everyone,

A lot has happened since last time I posted!  We had two wonderful visits from Grandma and Grandpa Davis, an awesome visit to Ohio to visit the Didier family and Keegan is 5 1/2 months old!  There are a bunch of pictures from our visits with family!

The kids are doing great!  Shae is enjoying summer and lots of time with her Daddy.   She is still loving gymnastics and it is a joy to see her having a great time.  Her vocabulary is so big and she says some of the funniest things!  Keegan is quite the chunker.  He has the biggest, most beautiful cheeks that are too kissable.  He weighs in close to 20 lbs and I actually messed up my back lifting him in his baby carrier.  That’s pretty sad.  He is such a happy boy and wants so badly to be able to move.  He can scoot himself backwards on his tummy and can roll over.  He also babbles a ton and only at a very loud volume.  It’s funny, except early in the morning.

There are only 3 more weeks before Daddy starts back teaching/going to school.  We have enjoyed our summer, but it is passing too quickly.  Enjoy the pictures.  The album is called “Ohio trip & July 09.”
